The Mystery of Edwin Druid

March 23, 2009

So, my school recently put on The Mystery of Edwin Druid, a musical. I, who wanted good seats, community service hours, and a free ticket, volunteered to usher.

It was certainly very interesting.

For one thing, I had to be there an hour before, and spent most of the time standing around awkwardly with the other freshmen usher, not saying anything. Occasionally a senior theater person would come around and tell us to do something, but basically just acted all uppity.

The play was very good- the audience chooses the ending- look it up, and it was a good 2 and 1/2 hours.

Except for the intermission.

Handing out programs was not so bad, but during the intermission, my job was to make sure that no one brought food into the theater.

So there I was, standing at the door, yelling at seniors and elderly people “You can’t bring food into the theater” (since most of the time they had got partially in). What was worse, is that people would openly sneak food into purses and then when called out on it would be all like “oh, that water bottle? How did that get there?”

Probably the worst part was, the last time I came to the school play, I snuck in a cup of cider.

Spring Break…and the Adventures of Isadora

March 23, 2009

Yes! I’m on Spring Break. Sorry for the non-existent updates, but I should be putting up several this week.

Look for some stuff on softball, general Spring Break hilarity, and the Adventures of Isadora.

For those who do not know, the Adventures of Isadora is an audio book series created by yours truly, Kani, and Nika.  While to show the actual audiobooks, I have to make it into a video (which is not finished) and stream it from YouTube, here is the cover art (done by Kani) for the first two parts of the series:
